You DJ. We’ll Handle the Sound System.
Bring the DJ deck or controller you prefer to perform with. We'll take care of the sound system.
Before the booking, tell us what equipment you'll be using so we can make sure the system is ready with the appropriate connections. For suitable bookings, Audio Hire can deliver the PA to the venue, position and set up the speakers and subwoofers, connect and test the system, and have it ready for your arrival.
You show up with your deck, connect to the system and start your set. At the end of the night, disconnect your deck and take it with you.
We'll deal with everything that's ours.
Take the Gig
Owning a large sound system shouldn't determine which DJ bookings you can accept.
You may have your own controller and performance equipment but no PA system. You may have speakers suitable for smaller functions but receive an enquiry for something substantially larger. You might be travelling to Adelaide without your normal system, or you may simply prefer not to spend hours loading, transporting, setting up and packing down speakers and subwoofers.
Audio Hire can provide the sound system independently of your DJ service.
Tell us about the venue, audience size, type of function and what you need from the system. We can help determine an appropriate setup and arrange the equipment and technical support required.
Your DJ Setup. Our PA.
If you already have the equipment you perform with, bring it.
Your controller, laptop and other DJ equipment can be connected to an Audio Hire sound system selected for the venue and audience.
Depending on the booking, the system can include professional speakers, at least two subwoofers where dedicated low-frequency reinforcement is required, stands, cabling, mixing equipment and other audio components needed to create a complete setup.
For larger or more demanding productions, talk to us about an appropriately scaled system rather than trying to make a smaller mobile DJ system do a job it wasn't designed to do.
No PA? No Problem.
Not every DJ owns a sound system.
For DJs starting out, the cost of purchasing suitable speakers, subwoofers, stands, cables and transport equipment can be substantial. Storage and transportation create another set of problems.
Hiring the PA separately gives you another option.
You can build your DJ business around your performance equipment and your ability as a DJ without immediately investing in a complete mobile sound system.
When a booking requires PA, Audio Hire can supply it.
That also means you aren't restricted to one system. A smaller wedding and a larger dance function don't necessarily need the same equipment. Instead of owning one PA and trying to use it for everything, the sound system can be selected according to the booking.
Already Own a PA?
You can still leave it at home.
Loading speakers and subwoofers into a vehicle, transporting them to a venue, carrying them into position, setting everything up and repeating the process in reverse at the end of the night adds considerable work to a DJ booking.
Sometimes that's part of the job.
It doesn't always have to be.
For suitable bookings, Audio Hire can provide the PA, transport it to the venue, set it up and return for pack-down and collection.
You arrive with your DJ equipment, connect to the system and concentrate on the performance.
At the end of the night, you pack up your DJ equipment.
We take care of ours.
Scale Up When the Booking Gets Bigger
A DJ may have a perfectly capable system for regular mobile work but occasionally receive a booking that demands considerably more.
A larger guest list, bigger room, substantial dance floor or outdoor setting can change what is required from the PA.
You don't necessarily need to buy another sound system because one booking has outgrown your existing equipment.
Audio Hire can provide a larger system for the occasion, allowing you to take bookings that might otherwise sit outside the practical limits of your own PA.
For productions where the audio requirements become more substantial, we can also discuss professionally operated sound-system options and technical support.
We Set It Up. You Play. We Take It Away.
This is where Audio Hire can make life considerably easier for a working DJ.
For suitable bookings, we deliver the sound system to the venue and set it up before you arrive. Speakers, subwoofers, stands, cabling and the rest of the PA are positioned, connected and tested ready for the booking.
Your job can be as simple as arriving with your deck and plugging in.
When the night finishes, you disconnect your deck and you're done.
We return to pack down our equipment and take it away.
Instead of spending part of your day loading and unloading a PA system, you can concentrate on preparing and performing your set — and when the booking finishes, you can go home.
Need Someone to Run the Sound?
For straightforward DJ bookings, you may simply need the PA supplied and set up so you can operate from your own DJ equipment.
More complex productions can require additional technical support.
Audio Hire can provide experienced sound technicians alongside our equipment for productions requiring professional setup, soundcheck, live audio operation or technical troubleshooting.
This can be particularly useful where the DJ is one part of a larger program involving speeches, presenters, live performers, multiple microphones or other audio sources.
A Better Option for Your Client Too
Separating the DJ from the sound-system supplier can also give the person organising the function more choice.
A bride and groom shouldn't necessarily have to choose between the DJ they want and the DJ who happens to own the largest PA.
A company shouldn't need to make loudspeaker ownership part of its criteria when choosing entertainment.
The DJ can be selected because they are the right DJ for the occasion. The sound system can then be selected according to the venue, audience and production requirements.
For wedding couples, private clients and event coordinators, that can make the entire booking process more flexible.
Choose the DJ. Choose the sound system. They don't have to come from the same supplier.
Working With Wedding DJs
Weddings are a particularly good example of where this approach can work.
A DJ may be booked because the couple likes their music, presentation style and personality, but the reception venue may require more audio capability than the DJ normally carries.
Audio Hire can provide a sound system independently of the DJ booking, allowing the equipment to be selected around the reception rather than around what happens to fit in the DJ's vehicle.
Where dedicated low-frequency reinforcement is required for the dance floor, we start with at least two subwoofers and scale the system according to the room, audience and required performance.
For more demanding premium weddings, professionally operated Meyer Sound Tigra and 1800-LFC systems can also be considered where appropriate.
Working With Event Coordinators
If you're the DJ on a function being managed by a professional event coordinator, we can work with the coordinator directly on the audio requirements.
That means you don't necessarily need to become the intermediary between the client, venue and sound supplier.
The coordinator can provide the venue, schedule and production requirements. You can provide details of your DJ equipment and connections. Audio Hire can then determine what is required from the sound system.
Everyone remains responsible for the part of the production they know best.
Visiting Adelaide for a DJ Booking?
Travelling with a controller and laptop is considerably easier than travelling with a complete PA system.
If you're coming to Adelaide for a wedding, corporate function, private party or other DJ booking, Audio Hire can provide local sound equipment for suitable productions.
Tell us what DJ equipment you're bringing, where you're performing, the approximate audience size and what the booking involves. We can discuss the sound system and technical requirements with you before you arrive.
Professional Equipment Without the Investment
Professional audio equipment represents a significant investment. It also needs somewhere to be stored, a suitable vehicle to transport it and time to maintain it.
Hiring allows you to access equipment according to the requirements of individual bookings without owning every possible system yourself.
Audio Hire maintains a focused range of professional audio equipment, including Electro-Voice speakers and subwoofers, microphones, mixers and associated equipment. For premium operated productions, Meyer Sound systems are also available by arrangement.
You can use the equipment you need for the booking and leave the ownership, storage and maintenance to us.
Build Audio Hire Into Your DJ Quote
If you regularly work as a DJ, you don't have to treat PA hire as a last-minute solution.
It can become part of the way you quote suitable bookings.
When a client needs a sound system, establish the venue, guest numbers and requirements and contact Audio Hire about the PA component. The sound-system cost can then be accounted for as part of the overall production rather than discovering after the DJ has been booked that the available equipment isn't appropriate.
For larger or unusual bookings, contacting us early also gives us an opportunity to consider access, setup timing, venue requirements and the system configuration before the day.
For DJs Across Adelaide
Audio Hire is based in Walkerville and works with functions throughout metropolitan Adelaide and surrounding areas.
DJ sound-system support can be arranged for weddings, private parties, corporate functions, dance events, school functions and other suitable bookings.
If you're working further from Adelaide, tell us where the booking is being held. Regional work can be considered where the scale of the booking and transport requirements make it practical.
