Extension Lead Hire

Audio Hire’s 25-metre extension leads are available for hire in Adelaide when professional audio equipment needs to be positioned away from the venue’s available power outlets. They are useful for speaker systems, mixers, DJ equipment and other compatible electrical equipment used for weddings, parties, presentations, performances and other functions.

Power is an important part of planning any audio setup. Powered speakers and other equipment need to be positioned where they will work effectively, but the nearest suitable outlet may not always be conveniently located. A 25-metre extension lead provides additional flexibility when arranging equipment within a venue.

Extension leads can be hired individually or added to a larger Audio Hire equipment booking. If several powered devices are positioned in different locations, more than one lead may be required depending on the layout of the space and the available power points.

Plan Your Power Before Setting Up

Before your booking, it is worth checking where suitable power outlets are located in relation to the speakers, mixer, DJ position, stage or other equipment.

The required cable length depends on the actual route the lead needs to follow rather than the straight-line distance between the equipment and the outlet. Routing around walls, furniture, stages and other obstacles can increase the distance considerably.

Power leads should be positioned carefully so they do not create unnecessary trip hazards or interfere with guest and staff movement. Where a cable must cross an appropriate traffic area, a suitable cable cover may also be required.

Audio Hire has professional cable covers available for hire where cables need additional protection at crossing points.

Power for PA and Audio Equipment

Extension leads are commonly required with powered PA speakers because each speaker needs access to mains power. Mixers, wireless microphone receivers, DJ equipment and other devices may also require power depending on the system being used.

When putting together a larger sound system, consider the power requirements of every component rather than only the main speakers. Having the correct audio equipment without enough suitable power connections can prevent the system from being set up as intended.

If you are hiring a complete system from Audio Hire and are unsure how many extension leads you need, tell us about the venue and how you expect the equipment to be positioned. We can help you consider the supporting cables and accessories required for the setup.
