Audio Hire for Live Music & Performances
Live music can require more than simply connecting a phone or laptop to a pair of speakers. The right setup depends on the performers, instruments, venue, audience size and how many separate microphones or audio sources need to be amplified.
For a solo singer, acoustic performer or simple duo, a compact PA can be straightforward. Bands and performances with several vocalists or instruments may need additional inputs, microphones and technical support.
For Solo Performers & Acoustic Music
For singers, acoustic performers and other small live performances, the 2 × 1000 Watt Speaker Package provides a practical two-speaker starting point.
For vocals, add the Shure SM58 Microphone, a professional vocal microphone suited to singers and live performance.
A Microphone Stand keeps the microphone in position while leaving the performer's hands free for an instrument.
Mixing Vocals & Instruments
The Yamaha MG06 Audio Mixer is well suited to straightforward live setups where only a small number of inputs are required.
It provides up to two microphone inputs plus additional line inputs, making it useful for a solo musician or simple duo combining vocals, instruments or backing tracks before sending the mixed signal to the PA system.
If your performance requires more than two microphone inputs, contact us before booking rather than trying to fit a larger live setup into a mixer that doesn't have enough channels.
For Larger or Louder Performances
For performances that need more output and headroom, the 2 × 1500 Watt 15" Speaker Package provides a larger two-speaker system.
The appropriate setup depends on the style of music, venue and audience, as well as which instruments are being amplified through the PA.
When the Performance Needs More Bass
For live music where dedicated low-frequency reinforcement is required, the 5600W EV Speaker and Subwoofer Package combines two powered speakers with two 18-inch subwoofers.
If you're building your own system and adding subwoofers separately, we recommend using at least two subwoofers for more balanced low-frequency coverage.
Wireless Vocals & Presenters
If a vocalist, performer or MC needs to move freely around the performance area, the Shure BLX24/SM58 Wireless Hand Held Microphone System provides a wireless alternative to a conventional wired microphone.
For performers remaining at a fixed position, the wired Shure SM58 is generally the simpler option.
Bringing a Band?
A full band can require considerably more than two mixer inputs. Multiple vocalists, instruments, DI feeds and other sources can quickly turn a simple PA hire into a more involved live sound setup.
Tell us how many performers you have, which instruments need to go through the PA and how many vocal microphones you require. We can help you determine whether the equipment available for online hire is suitable or whether your performance needs a more tailored setup.
Need a Sound Technician?
If you'd prefer someone to handle setup, soundcheck and live audio during the performance, professional sound technician support is available at an additional cost.
Tell us about the performance and the technical requirements when you enquire so we can discuss what support is appropriate.
Not Sure What Your Performance Needs?
Send us your venue, approximate audience size, number of performers, instruments and the number of vocal microphones you expect to use.
You don't need to design the PA system yourself. We'll help you work out what equipment makes sense for the performance.
